Thing 33 Travel 2.0

Travel 2.0 eh? This one pretty much just made me sad that we really have no money to travel anywhere! We go to Vermont once a year to see my wife's family (sometimes we do cross the border and go visit friends in Montreal which is kind of exciting!) but any other travel is tough with two kids and jobs and $$$. I enjoyed living vicariously through others adventures looking at the Lost Girls and My Kugelhopf. It is nice to be able to read regular folks reviews of hotels and such, I did this last year when trying to find a hotel in Chicago for a night. The travel journal sites I might try out on our next trip. I find it interesting and amusing that one can find websites devoted to fast food or wi-fi but these things may come in useful sometimes. The Green guide is a very nice idea.

Here is the Half Marathon I ran yesterday!

Thing 32 - Google Maps & Mashups

I played around with google maps and looked at some of the mash ups that have been created. Some of them are kind of fun like the map with all the locations mentioned on The Lost TV show. Another I liked was the mashup that showed music happening in my area. I signed up for "Map My Run" since i run to and from work each day as well as run races and other training. I thought it would be fun to map all my runs and keep track of them. I made a map of one of my regular routes to work which i will attempt to embed now:
